Too Many Inquiries!!!

So, you decided to go shopping for a car. The dealer runs your credit to see if you qualify for a loan. A few days later you check your credit report and find EIGHT hard inquiries!! WHAT??? The first thought you have is how much your credit score will decrease because of this...but don't fret... FICO is fully aware that consumers do something called "rate shopping", so here's what they've decided. Multiple inquiries from auto, mortgage or student loan lenders, within a short period of time (30 days), are treated as a single inquiry and will have little impact on your credit score. ‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍This doesn't mean that they will only show up ONCE on your credit report...it simply means that they will only count as one inquiry when computing your score.
